SYNOPSIS

Michael and Jim clash over the amount of conference room meetings going on in the office. Then David Wallace calls to let them know there won't be cost of living increases this year and it's up to the managers how to distribute the small amount they have for each branch. After getting at each other during the planning session, Jim decides to give it to people straight - only the sales staff will get raises. But that doesn't go over well. They go back in the office and use pictures of the staff and beans to decide who gets how much of a raise. After the bean plan is discovered, they try to come up with a new plan. Michael admits that he likes sharing this responsibility with Jim. He gives him a world's best boss mug and Jim says to the camera that Michael is his only friend left in the Office.

Pam tries to hint around that they'd appreciate money as gifts, rather than registry items. She regrets it once she asks Kevin for cash but gets excited when she sees the check was addressed to "Mrs. Pam Halpert."

Dwight loves that people are seeing how "terrible" Jim is. He lets everyone in the conference room to see the bean counting and then tries to incite a riot against Jim.
